Wimbledon Village - Sea Creatures Trapped in Giant Icebergs

As we wind down another week of holiday camp, now seems like a good time to think of all the fun things we’ve done this week! In a week where the heatwave caught up with us, we have enjoyed sheltering in the shade of the natural canopy that our forest trees provide us! Ice lollies have been plenty, as well as an increased number of water breaks, this has allowed us to stay hydrated in the heat!

On Tuesday, some of our sea creatures got trapped in giant icebergs and it was our job to set them free! We put them in our tuff tray and used tools to help break the ice apart. This, along with the temperature in the forest, meant we had the frozen creatures free in no time!

On Wednesday, we had some superheroes come and visit us, in the form of Iron Man, The Hulk and Captain America! These dress up items were gifted to us from some recently departed children and families, and our little explorers enjoyed taking their roleplay to the next level with them!

On Thursday, Georgia and Jordan had an idea of creating a rope bridge. Sam had brought in some wood from home and so we went to work drilling some holes in it before assembling our bridge and making it ready to be used! The bridge hung low, which made it nice and simple for the children to travel across it.

On Thursday and Friday, it was time to harvest some more of our homegrown crops and so we got the children to assist us in unearthing our potatoes.

We hope you have a great weekend, enjoy the sun and see you all next week!
